Some time you need to change your ip address for access to limited resources on the internet, I’m not talking about faking ip to hack or do some thing black way.
You can use the technical guide for some thing like:
- You develop a website and hosted on home server or LAN server and you want to see what happen when access your website from outside.
- You need to access to your intranet website for working from home but your offices LAN haven’t VPN.
- You need to access to a website has limited access from one country to see what is it (like hulu only allow ip from USA).
Everything you need is one server, vps or shared hosting allowing ssh access. Today on the internet, many hosting provider offer hosting with ssh access including paid hosting and free hosting (google search, webmaster resources forum).
When you have your host with ssh access (user & pass) following step below to setup your connection:
- Download Tunnelier (Bitvise) from here http://www.bitvise.com/tunnelier for free.
- Install Tunnelier program
- Start Tunnelier program
- Click to Services tab > Enable SOCK/HTTP forward . You can change information here to any thing you like.
- Connect to your server, hosting or vps (login tab) with your user & pass.
- Start your browser ( IE, Opera or Firefox or... ) configure your connect over sock proxy 127.0.0.1 port 1080 or ip & port you configured on services tab of Tunnelier.
- Done, now you browse web with your server ip. (you can go to ip2location.com to check your ip).
